Hizbul Islam (Party of Islam) was a militant group formed after other militant groups merged to rebel against President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed.[4] The four militant groups the merged were: Jabhatul Islamiya, Muaskar Anole, Mu'askar Ras Kamboni, and Hassan Dahir Aweys. The group merged with Al-Shabaab in 2010.[4]
